When you’re standing on the terrace of Phoebe, the Moon is almost at your fingertips; close enough for you to ask it everything you wish to know. An attentive listener will hear the answers. Others can enjoy the minimalist irresistibility of the villa, the attractive terrace with a pool, and the sunrises.
Villa Features
Phoebe is the first truly luxurious poolside villa in Stari Grad, a town that justifiably deserves greater attention, which makes us extra proud to have Phoebe as part of the Villas Hvar collection.
Let’s clear something out that’s been troubling many – Phoebe is about a 15-minute drive from the hectic town of Hvar. Once you get to know Stari Grad, you might just experience a shift of consciousness, as many have before you, and you stop focusing on Hvar as a vacation spot. Not because Hvar is not lovely – it is, in fact, beautiful. It is because Stari Grad has the zen, the nonchalant, relaxed, authentic island atmosphere that the town of Hvar has lost quite a while ago.
Apart from that, Stari Grad is ideal for a harmless boat rent (for which you don’t need a license) and exploring charming beaches and coves in the bay of Stari Grad. Adventure, relaxation, enjoyment, resting as it should be – it is kind of like you ”buy 1 – get 4” when you decide to come to Stari Hvar.
Let us now see how exactly you’ll enjoy your holiday if you choose Villa Phoebe.
The Villa was completed in early 2018. It is built on a plot of 1000m2 with 450m2 built in. It has a covered outside living area of approximately 80m2 inclusive of an outside wet kitchen and a terraced area of approximately 160m2 inclusive of the pool size 50m2 with contra flow exercise facility.
In the ground floor, Villa Phoebe boasts a two-car garage with an automatic door and offers access to the villa basement comprising of a laundry, toilet & shower plus storage areas.
An internal (as well as external) staircase leads from the basement to an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. The space benefits from central air conditioning - cooling & heating - and is serviced by an automatic solid fuel stove for colder nights. This whole beautiful, transparent and cosy space is fully furnished with high end furniture. Two large double glass doors provide access to the outside areas connecting the exterior with the interior and maximize light internally, while also affording stunning views of the bay, olive groves and all kinds of Mediterranean greenery. Off the kitchen there is another toilet, wash hand basin.
From the open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen, we take the stairs to the first floor, where you’ll find 4 double bedrooms: 3 have matrimonial beds and 1 has separate beds.
Each bedroom has a built-in wardrobe and its own bathroom with a shower while the master bedroom has a shower and a bathtub. Also, each of the four bedrooms has large full height doors leading onto a balcony that maximizes the magical bay and mountain views.
All the upstairs areas also benefit from central air conditioning - cooling & heating. This villa has something that you don’t see much on Hvar - there is a high-tech water heating system that provides copious amounts of hot water at a moment’s notice. In addition, each bathroom has a heated towel rail and underfloor heating, something you could like in a low season.
Apart from the spacious, amazing terrace with a pool, which will be equally pleasurable if you’re barbecuing or meditating, and the view you’ll remember for long, we’d like to single out the beautiful study, which you can enter from the living room and which has such lovely style and cosiness that we’re actually fearing you might spend your summer there – working! The study also has a powder room – a toilet with a wash basin.
The villa is fully air conditioned and heated, with controllable temperatures in all rooms. Stunning views of the bay and surrounding nature provide views that will not disappoint, and the villa itself is a true high-quality gem in the Hvar private accommodation scene. The property is located a few minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal and a ten-minute walk from the wonderful little town of Stari Grad, which dates from 4th century BC, and charming sheltered swimming bays complete with friendly beach bars.
Phoebe is an ideal place for family, friends, and small corporate events with access to some additional accommodation available within walking distance of the villa. There’s another interesting fact about Phoebe. It is without a doubt a villa with the most doors; wherever you turn, there’s a door that leads you somewhere, so it might grow on those who like hide and seek.
… After you leave, we’d love for you to share your impression with us. We’d be curious to see if you’ll be as thrilled as we are.
PS. As you can see in the gallery, the villa is located next to the road that connects Stari Grad and Hvar, that is, the ferry, so it is definitely not dislocated or isolated. In the interior, you can expect quiet, but on the terraces you can see outside noise, depending on the month, day or hour. In August or July, the noise is naturally more prominent than in May or October. If you visit in January - you won’t hear a thing.
