If you like small places by the sea, modern architecture and contemporary interiors, minimalism, plenty of glass, and even more light, vicinity to the beach, and a view of the blue sea, you might really take a fancy to Villa Hephaestus.
Villa Features
Villa Hephaestus, built in 2021, is an architectural attraction of the island of Hvar. It is located only 50 meters from the sea, in a quiet and pleasant bay of Basina, several kilometers from Vrboska, Jelsa, and Stari Grad. Due to its geographical position, this villa represents a synergy of modern, minimalist landscaping and natural surroundings. For the purpose of utilizing each inch of the building plot, the unusual constructional design of the house took for of an irregular quadrangle. With lighting along the entire terrace and a direct view of the sea, the villa, covered entirely in glass, is incredibly reminiscent of the bow of a sailing ship from the outside.
In numbers, the plot of Villa Hephaestus covers 342m2, and the 200-square-meter interiors of Villa Hephaestus are ideal for 8 guests. The lower terrace encircling the villa covers a total of 80m2.
Villa Haphaestus has 4 bedrooms on the first floor. All the rooms ooze both a feeling of luxury and warmth, achieved by the glass walls and a combination of beige and white complemented by a choice of high-end materials. Due to the functional distribution of the space, each room has a sizeable en-suite bathroom, all with the aim of providing the guests of the villa with maximum comfort. Although the entire villa is covered in glass, privacy is achieved by pulling on thick curtains that isolate you from possible prying eyes.
We descend the stairs from the first floor to the lower floor. The ground floor interior is very open, and the impression of floating and unbearable lightness of being is enhanced by glass walls that open easily if necessary. A heated 3x3m jacuzzi with massage jets and LED lighting, with temperature up to 36 degrees Celsius, is located (which is not seen very often!) at the center of the ground floor. Next to the jacuzzi is the living room, whereas to the right you’ll find the dining room and kitchen. The white kitchen with black details is custom made, and its special feature is that it is (in keeping with the whole villa) literally flying. Apart from its smooth sailing, the kitchen is fully equipped with top quality appliances and a very important addition – a wine cooler. Part of the furniture in the villa is of the brand Prostoria, which personally makes us happy because it means quality and top design.
A Finnish sauna awaits you in a separate room on the ground floor, while you can enjoy gastronomic delicacies, such as fresh fish from local fishermen, on the barbecue terrace. After dining, you’ll be able to bask in refreshment in the outdoor (and if necessary heated) pool, which occupies an area of 22 square meters on the terrace. Your biggest dilemma in Villa Hephaestus could be where to jump – into the jacuzzi, into the pool or into the crystal-clear sea a few steps further.
The quiet bay, where villa Hephaestus is located, will give its guests a feeling of peace and relaxation in the peak of the summer season, and this villa, due to its architectural uniqueness, location, and its facilities (a spacious roof sundeck for 2022 is being prepared!), could be an address to which you will gladly return – regardless of the season – especially since the villa has an indoor jacuzzi, sauna, floor heating, and a heated pool, which guarantees a pleasant stay on Hvar and a good time any time of the year.
Enjoy.
