Xanthe is one of the 3000 sea nymphs who decided to call the bay of Jagodna, which you’ll find just a few minutes from the town of Hvar, their home. Why Xanthe decided to stay forever in this bay will be perfectly clear to you if you come visit.
Villa Features
Villa Xanthe, built in 2002 and renovated in 2023, is located in the beautiful, quiet, and green bay of Jagodna, a five-minute drive from the town of Hvar.
The villa is a combination of a completely new, modern interior and a Mediterranean exterior, which features plenty of beautiful local stone in construction and lush vegetation. Add to that the breath-taking view – unless you are a yogi and take very deep breaths – and you have an absolutely perfect place for an absolutely perfect Hvar holiday.
Xanthe has placed herself wisely, on a 6000-square-meter plot, so that no one can disturb her Zen. The privacy of each guest is guaranteed. When you take into account all the terraces and the pool, the exterior of the villa covers approximately 600m2, while the house itself span across 128m2.
A short description for the impatient – the house itself is well equipped, with a minimalistic approach to interiors. The living room offers the sea on your plate; there are 4 double bedrooms with matrimonial beds, an American-style kitchen, and lots of sea view terraces from every corner of the house. The pool area with sunbeds and a hot tub is a story for itself.
A longer description for those keen on detail – when you pass the gate, you’ll come to a large parking lot which can accommodate up to 20 cars, if they are arranged wisely. We're not saying you'll need parking for 20 cars, but you never know – maybe one day you'll decide to get married right on the terrace of Villa Xanthe; we wouldn't be surprised – in which case you'll also need a large parking lot for your guests.
You can enter the house from the rear parking area and from the front sea area. You can go down the marble stairs, about 15 of them, from the parking lot to the stone-covered terrace. To the right, you’ll find a fireplace with a sink and a large granite slab on which you will prepare all the fine fresh fish for grilling. This terrace is approximately 30m2 in size and has a reed canopy, and there is also a dining table for eight.
Here you'll see the entrance to the house, with an apartment of approximately 60m2 with two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with shower trays, an open plan kitchen, and a living room with two sofas. The first bathroom is en-suite, whereas the other one is adjacent to the second bedroom. The top of the counter table in the kitchen is also granite.
In front of this apartment there is another large terrace with another dining table.
If we take the stairs down from this terrace, we’ll come to the private heated pool, 8m x 5m in size, offering a phenomenal sea view, as is the case from all parts of this house. If we take the stone steps towards the sea from the pool, we reach the spot that makes this villa truly special – namely, there is a private dock and a beautifully crafted stone platform with ladders granting you easy and exclusive access to the crystal-clear sea.
After all, take a look at the photo gallery of the villa; we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words.
If we turn left from this terrace, we reach the second part of the house, with two bedrooms with matrimonial beds, each 180cm x 200cm in size, and two en-suite bathrooms with shower trays. In front of these two rooms there is also a small terrace and a path paved with stone all the way to the pool.
Just a note – there is another outdoor closed kitchen in the pool area, which the owners do not intend to make available to guests in 2023. Those who like to work on their glutes will be happy to learn that there are about 10 steps from the house to the pool, and about 30 steps to the sea.
The colors that dominate the interior of Villa Xanthe are gray and white, so hardly anything can divert your attention from what is truly important – getting back to yourself – apart from several colorful paintings on the walls, which we are not personally fans of, but the owners love them. Let's also mention that Xanthe has a garden full of lush Mediterranean greenery and intoxicating Mediterranean smells, but you will see that in the pictures, and even better in person. All rooms in the villa are air-conditioned.
Villa Xanthe is suitable for one or more families, for couples, but also for a group of friends. It doesn’t matter whether you will you lose yourself or find yourself again in villa Xanthe, we are sure of one thing – you'll come again.
ps. If you are going to be very hungry, the Arsenol tavern is approx. 400 m away, and the first grocery store is 1 km away in Camp Vira. Everything else is in the town of Hvar, 4 km away from villa Xanthe.
