Polyhymnia was created for artists and lovers of the arts, it has exceptional interior design, located on an idyllic country location, just several minutes away from the first town. It is certain that many lucky creatures will find the source of pure pleasure in Polyhymnia.
Villa Features
Villa Polyhymnia is located on a plot of land covering 816m2, with a north-south orientation. It edges on the village of Vrbanj, on a very calm, very zen location. It neighbors on just a few houses in the north and a single house in the east, whereas it is shrouded in forest on the southern and western sides.
The parking spots and the entrance to the estate are located on the north-eastern side of the house and they are isolated, so they don’t infringe upon the views or the beauty of the house.
All the pavements and terraces of Villa Polyhimnia are covered in stone; they are surrounded by gardens with Mediterranean herbs, and two gardens around the pool have wooden sculptures. The plot extends to two levels; the north-western, lower level houses the pool with the sundeck and shower, while the south-western, higher level boasts a beautiful 35-square meter gazebo with a summer kitchen (fully equipped – fridge, dishwasher, induction cooker, electric grill) and a dining table.
The two levels are connected with a staircase. The plot is delimited by a lovely, traditional Mediterranean dry-stone wall, guaranteeing the privacy of the guests. The villa covers 290 m2 and consists of a ground floor (120 m2), the gallery on the first floor (approx. 100 m2), and the gallery room.
The main entrance to the villa is located on the eastern side; you enter the ground floor, consisting of a dining room, living room (approx. 80 m2), a kitchen connected to the living room, and a hallway leading to the study and ground-floor toilet.
The living room, the study, and the kitchen are only two steps away from the pool with the sundeck. The ground floor is connected to the gallery with a staircase that looks as if it is floating in space – one of our favorite details in the villa. At the top of the staircase, in the gallery, there is a small salon adjacent to the anteroom with a metal staircase leading to a charming 12m2 room. This room is located at the very top of the roof, with a roof window, a standard matrimonial bed, and a TV. The room faces west. From the anteroom, you enter its 6m2 bathroom with a bath.
From the gallery you enter two other bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are the size of 20m2 respectively, whereas each bathroom covers 7m2. Each room is equipped with a large matrimonial bed (200x220cm), a built-in closet, night cabinets, and a TV. Each bathroom has a bath, two washbasins, a bidet, a toilet.
The study has a sofa (which can act as a cot if necessary), a desk with a computer, a TV. From the study, you enter the ground floor bathroom with a washbasin, shower tray, bidet, and toilet. The walls are lined in shelves with books and a large collection of old cameras. Please be careful if you want to learn about the details of the cameras. The study is one of those spaces where you feel as if you’re not in a vacation home but in the comfort of your own home.
The kitchen has a double-wing refrigerator, a microwave, an oven, a dishwasher, a ceramic cooker, a café machine, an ice machine, a juicer, and all the necessary appliances – just like the rest of the villa, the house is excellently equipped.
In the basement, to which you enter from the south side, right next to the main entrance, there is a washer and dryer. The estate has video surveillance so you can sleep peacefully.
…
Polyhymnia was finished in 2019. This villa is one of the most exclusive villas of Hvar. The bathroom has epoxy floors, there are ceramic tiles throughout the house, and there’s Oikos eco paint on the walls. This is all accentuated with high-end designer lighting. All the furniture, with emphasis on the inner staircase railing and the gallery, which looks like a sculpture, is custom designed for this villa. The interior of the villa acts as a kind of geometric game, relaxes you and animates at the same time. There are gorgeous carpets on the floor, whose lively shades add a touch of playfulness to the modern, minimalist space dominated by lovely neutrals – grey, brown, black, and white.
Apart from the dominant hues, there are some works of art that also dominate the villa. The living room boasts a large triptych, "The Olive Branch" by famous Croatian academic painter Maša Paparella. One of her smaller-sized oils, "Abstraction", can be found in the dining room. You can admire Petar Periš "Bull" in the gallery. All the paintings on the walls of Polyhymnia are works of art by famous Croatian artists, and the photos exhibited in the space are authored by the owner of the villa.
The air conditioning in the villa has been arranged through a riser fan and a cooler (10 pieces) built into the walls, except in the bathrooms. The central boiler provides hot water. Apart from the creative design and a strong artistic streak, we also prefer the eco vibe of the villa; we love sustainability and truly admire homes that use natural energy sources. We should also note that Polyhymnia has floor heating, just in case.
Should a power outage occur, panic lamps have been placed strategically so it always remains lit, and there are also smoke sensors. The villa has a wine cellar, a bar, and a cigar humidor. The owners thought of everything.
Internet coverage is excellent in the house and around it, which is a significant matter, as we presume. The satellite package offers over 1000 TV programs on all languages, including MAX TV and the beloved NETFLIX.
Polyhymnia has many added values: professional equipment for audiophiles, professional speakers, and a huuuge record collection. The guests are free to bring their own, of course. Polyhymnia got its name because it reminded us of the muse of sacred poetry, dance, eloquence as well as agriculture, considering the location.
The interior of the villa is specific, voluminous, comfortable, and exclusive, a space rarely seen yet envisaged for pleasure. The vision worked impeccably. Rarely do we see such attractive interiors, and the cascade exterior with a pool and garden stands neck to neck in terms of attractiveness.
Villa Polyhymnia is intended for people who search for genuine rest and pleasure, who enjoy beauty, art, and culture, who prefer idyllic Mediterranean villages and rich history; it is intended for people who desire top gastronomy within walking distance (do try the "peka"), as well as wine tasting options – nearby you’ll find Konoba Bratanić, Plančić, PZ Svirče…
We know you’ll find your way back to Polyhymnia even after a glass of wine.
