Althea was fortunate enough to be situated in a phenomenal location right by the sea, on the quiet outskirts of a peaceful and charming town called Jelsa. Everything about this villa exudes tranquility, simplicity, and comfort; the views from the villa are simply stunning, and the proximity to town amenities is an undeniable advantage.
Villa Features
The villa was built in 2015 and spans 265 m² of interior space, along with 70 m² of covered terraces. There is also a 25 m² pool and a covered parking area of 50 m², complete with a secure bicycle storage room. All of this is set on a 1,170 m² plot with direct access to the sea.
With five double bedrooms, the villa is ideal for up to ten guests. Althea is decorated in a contemporary style, using the highest quality materials. All bedrooms feature matrimonial beds and en-suite bathrooms with shower trays, while the master bedroom on the ground floor includes both a shower tray and a bathtub.
The main part of the house features a large open-plan area with a fully equipped kitchen, a modern living room with a fireplace, and a dining room. In addition to the main kitchen, there is also an outdoor summer kitchen with a large open grill.
The outdoor space is divided into various areas with different options, depending on whether you prefer dining, swimming, sitting, or lounging - all possibilities are at your disposal. There is a large outdoor dining table (we recommend fresh fish from the small fish market in Jelsa!) and plenty of sun loungers. The pool, with its built-in jacuzzi, is the perfect place for total relaxation while enjoying the beautiful sea view.
For those keen on details, here is an in-depth description of the house:
The entrance to Villa Althea is on the upper floor, with an interior staircase leading down to the ground floor.
On the ground floor, there is a 26 m² kitchen with a dining area, connected to a 35 m² living room. The floors are covered with parquet, and the living room features a fireplace. Both rooms have access to a 58 m² covered terrace, paved with stone and bordered by stone slabs. The terrace faces northeast (access from the living room) and southeast (access from the dining area and kitchen). The ground floor also houses the master bedroom, which is 19 m² in size, with a 6 m² bathroom and access to a 19 m² terrace oriented northeast. The master bedroom features a 180x200 cm matrimonial bed. Next to the staircase leading to the upper floor, there is a guest toilet and adjoining utility rooms.
The upper floor has four bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The bedroom floors are parquet. The first two bedrooms are each 16 m² in size and have access to a shared 12 m² covered terrace. These rooms face northeast. The remaining two bedrooms are approximately 11 m² each. One of these rooms has access to a 7 m² terrace facing northeast, while the other faces northwest. The bedrooms are furnished with two 160x200 cm matrimonial beds and a 140x200 cm matrimonial bed. Each en-suite bathroom on the upper floor is about 4 m² in size and includes a shower tray.
For the playful among you, this villa also offers (in the parking area) a game room where you’ll find a foosball table and a ping-pong table. SUPs are available for fun at sea.
Between the villa and the sea is a beautiful garden filled with Mediterranean plants, so you’ll never be short of green and blue hues - or aromatherapy for that matter - during your stay at this villa.
When we talk about the details, we particularly like the feature of the old stone olive oil container in the living room, which has been transformed into a table with a glass top. Did you know that before stainless steel was available, locals on Hvar used these stone containers to store their famous olive oil? We also love the zen spots placed strategically around the garden - small patios where you can find a sun lounger or a coffee table with armchairs. These are the perfect places to unwind when you need a break, even from your vacation. We wholeheartedly support your relaxation.
Last but not least, the beach in front of the house is a stone beach, with steps and a handrail. About 200 meters from the villa towards Jelsa is a pebble beach, and a little less than a kilometer towards Vrboska is a cove with a sandy beach.
