We’re wrapping up this unpredictable, hard, funny, exciting year that 2021 was. We hoped it would be better than 2020 was, but it started of harder, with new measures and lockdowns, and turned into something completely different this summer, with flocks of people coming to our beautiful island.
This year, we’re not making any predictions whatsoever – we just hope that this time next year, we are able to say that in the past 365 days we’ve laughed, met some new people, learned something new and exciting, accomplished something of value, and watched our friends succeed in their dreams.
Recently we’ve talked about bucket lists. Can you imagine what are the most popular items on people’s bucket lists? Check out below:
- See the Northern Lights
- Run a Marathon
- Take an African Safari
- Write a Story
- Walk Along the Great Wall of China
- Learn to Play an Instrument
- Snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef (or Just Go Snorkeling)
- Skydiving
- Own a Dog
- See the Pyramids of Giza
Those are just the top 10.
Ok, we live in interesting times (and now we know why it’s such a potent curse), but Hvar offers ample opportunities to cross things off your bucket list.
1. The best sunset (and sunrise!) on the Adriatic.
Don’t take our word for it: enter Hvar sunset on Instagram, and see for yourself.
2. Hvar played an important role in Greek mythology.
Ancient Greeks colonized Hvar in 384 BC, and Hvar is mentioned in Homer’s Iliad, as a home of Cyclops.
3. The best places are off the beaten path.
They always, always are, but in this case, you need a boat to see them all. So you can cross two things of your list: you can become the explorer for a day, and you can experience the wonders of life on a boat.
4. Run all you want.
Training for that special occasion? Hvar has ample opportunities for training.
5. Explore your creative drives.
Writing the next big novel? Let us find you just the perfect place to finish it! And try being uninspired on Hvar.
You can, of course, just come and enjoy yourself, without any tasks or expectations. If you ask us, those kind of endeavors are often the best kind.
